Que rico es Oaxaca, cooking classes

When I began searching for a cooking class in Oaxaca, I saw this had so many five star reviews and I was skeptical. However, after taking the class, I understood completely!It wasn’t just a cooking class, rather an experience! It felt as though you got together with family, and had a blast in the kitchen! Aside from the amount of fun, the entire family was genuine, kind, and hysterical! So much so, it makes me want to come to Oaxaca just to do another class.As it pertains to the food, everything was so delicious, words truly couldn’t describe the delicious flavors of all of the food prepared during this class! Highly, highly recommend! Five stars isn’t enough, I give them 10’s across the board!

La mejor experiencia de todo el viaje, no dudéis si disponéis de tiempo ha que es una experiencia única y en la que aprenderéis muchísimas cosas.Alfonso y su familia son encantadores.

We had a wonderful experience with Que Rico es Oaxaca cooking class with Alfonso and his family! We started the the day with a tour of a local market and received lots of great tips for places to visit and food to eat there. After the market we headed to Alfonso’s house a short drive away and received a warm welcome from his family! We got to pick what we wanted to cook for the day and we all had a blast as a group learning about the dishes, drinking mezcal, cooking, and of course eating the dishes we made. This was a highlight of our trip to Oaxaca and it was great to visit with a local family and learn more about this beautiful city while eating delicious food! We will definitely be back on our next trip to Oaxaca!

Definitivamente algo que debes hacer si estas visitando Oaxaca. Alfonso es un chef increíble, nos recogió en el centro, nos llevó al mercado local a comprar todos los ingredientes de las recetas que escogimos, y la clase fue en la cocina de su casa, muy bonita y agradable. Conocimos a sus padres que nos ayudaron durante partes de la clase. Preparamos aperitivo, plato principal y postre. Todo exquisito y muy divertido de aprender. Aconsejamos ir con el estómago vacío. Excelente experiencia :)

So glad we were recommended this cooking class while in Oaxaca City. Alfonso was a great host and we thoroughly enjoyed our morning with him, his family and the other class participants. The class is completely hands on which we loved. We got to decide as a group what we cooked and everything was so fresh and delicious. Highly recommend if you are in Oaxaca city! Cocinar en casa del Chef Alfonso en compañía de su familia ha sido una experiencia única e irrepetible!! Nos plantea distintas opciones de menú para cocinar según nuestras preferencias. Después al mercado a comprar y por último a casa a cocinar con su familia. En nuestro caso cocinamos salsa roja y verde, guacamole, memelas, molotes, pozole y helado de chocolate casero! También nos dan a probar mezcal artesanal.Todo riquísimo y la atencion de Alfonso y su familia de 10. Lo recomiendo a todo el q quiera tener un contacto estrecho con la cultura y comida oaxaqueña.

ne of the best things I've ever done. Three friends had an afternoon cooking class with Alfonso. We went to a small market to purchase our ingredients and then to Alfonso's home where we were warmly greeted by his parents who assisted in some of the prep work and did the clean up. They were warm and kind, and his father full of humour. We prepared a red and green salsa, guacamole, tacitos and pork ribs with black mole sauce which was the one thing we really wanted to learn to make. Exquisite! We thoroughly enjoyed the afternoon and all the laughs we shared. Do it!!!

My experience with Alfonso and his parents during their cooking class was one of the highlights of my trip to Oaxaca. After visiting a few markets to pick up ingredients, we drove the short distance to their famiy home where our group of 7 gathered in the kitchen to prepare delicious Mexican cuisine including mole from scratch. The cooking experience was interesting and a lot of fun, and the meal we got to enjoy at the end was excellent. The experience was made even more fun with shots of Mezcal liberally poured by Alfonso's dad and plenty of beer. I highly recommend signing up for a class with Que rico es Oaxaca!

Highly, highly recommend this experience. Alfonso is very good at explaining things, and is very accommodating to group choice. Everyone gets a chance to participate in different aspects of the meal preparation. Unlike some cooking classes, this one takes place at his families house with his family participating, which makes for a great cultural experience.

We had a really great time with Alfonso and his family. They provided an outstanding cooking course with the full Mexican experience! First we bought fresh products at the market. Then we went to their beautiful home and cooked in their kitchen the best Mole I had so far. While that we had a Mezcal and Alfonso’s father and mother helped to prepare everything. It was really funny with them and we definitely had a great time. 100% recommend this experience!
