We went on 2 excursions with Eduardo as our guide. Both the Eco tour and the Coffee plantation tour exceeded our expectations. Eduardo was thorough, very knowledgeable and super funny. I would highly recommend Maxi Travel for touring around Hualtuco and area.

Took the Fun & Sun cruise offered by our WestJet rep at our hotel. You get what you pay for, small boat, limited commentary , lack of pre trip info. Waves and sea were too rough,3m swells should not be on the ocean in these conditions. wife got sick, small boat with 7 couples but lots of beer. For snorkelling bring your own gear or pay a separate vendor at the marina. At snorkelling spot they want to rent you an umbrella(150 pesos) and sell you drinks and food at this 1 hour stop. Snorkelling was ok. Next they take you to Maguey bay for lunch, lots of restaurants and people, meals a little pricey. So a $40 tour has $50-$100 extra costs. Ask lots of questions before you book.

Dropped off at Binniguenda which was fine .. in two weeks we have not seen from the rep at all! No response to email and phone rang off the wall but no answer and no voicemail. Partnership with Westjet .. fingers crossed they remember to pick us up for return to the airport!

The shuttle/driver services came highly recommended by some friends. When we called we were quoted 45$ for a car or 55$ for a small van for 2 people. I talked to Priscilla (the manager?) on the phone and agreed to pay for a small van. Not the cheapest price but we don't mind paying more for good service. When the driver showed up the next day, he came with a car, and told us it would be 65$. Not the agreed upon service or price. When we contested he brought us to the office to talk to Priscilla in person where she backtracked on our agreed upon prices of the day before and made excuses and was rude and unapologetic. We just paid the new price and the driver drove us where we needed to be. The driver, Fernando, was amazing - he was very friendly and drove slowly and safely which we really appreciated. All in all, I would NOT use them again because the whole thing felt dishonest - if you quote someone a price, you should stick to it. The experience and 'vibe' with Priscilla was horrible. 1 STAR. DO NOT RECOMMEND.

We went on 2 excursions with maxitravel in Huatulco. We did a Fun and sun Bay tour and an Eco tour with turtle release. Our tour guides were Miguel and Eduardo. Both were awesome tour guides! Very knowledgeable and fun! They made the tours so much fun and informative. Would highly recommend both tours!

Spent the month of February at the Barcelo in Huatulco, because of their WestJet affiliation I booked 6 tours over the month. The rep was very friendly but could have rated the tours on physical endurance, walking shoes" wasn't adequate. I have a permanent disability (spinal Stenosis) which pinches the nerves in my back and causes weak legs

Our “sun and fun” tour of the bays of Huatulco was mostly great. Our guide, Eduardo, was fantastic - knowledgeable, friendly, funny, and passionate about the local environment. The bus that took us from our resort to the Bahia Chachue marina was a wreck - no AC, not a single working seatbelt, and making noises that did not inspire confidence that we would arrive at our destination. The boat was small but well equipped, with only 15 guests, which is great. The big catamarans that do this same circuit look great, but with 50+ guests the snorkelling is insanely crowded, and the boats are too big to go to shore so you have to get shuttled back and forth in a skiff, a major PITA. The tour of the bays was breathtaking. Snorkelling at Playa La India in Bahia Chachagua was only ok. The relatively rare live coral reef on the Pacific side of Mexico (protected in the national park) was great to see, but the number of reef fish was disappointing, at least on this particular day. Lastly, the lunch stop at Bahia Cacaluta on the return trip was good, but do not necessarily eat at the restaurant the guide herds you to. There are many options here - go where you see all the locals eating! Pro tip - ask to see photos of the boat before you book any snorkel/dive trip.
