Zona Arqueológica de Dzibanché - Kinichná

Excelente opción si te gusta la caminata y el aire fresco, llegamos en auto como a 1 hora de camino desde Bacalar, la entrada es muy económica y puedes pedir ayuda a un guía local (con propina voluntaria), el sitio está bien conservado y puedes subir a las pirámides para apreciar la hermosa vista y tomar fotos increíbles.La zona se divide en dos sitios a los que accedes con el mismo boleto, no olvides llevar agua y algún snack porque no hay venta de nada.

La zona arqueológica es increíble, los edificios principales son palacios construidos entre la selva, debió ser imponente verlos en toda su magnificencia de colores y acabados, entre tanta naturaleza; cobran $75 por persona en el sitio arqueológico, lo malo es que para pasar ahora los ejidatarios cobran también adicional $50 por persona y vehículo; pero el camino está muy mal, en algunos pedazos prácticamente no hay asfalto y sí demasiados baches, hay que ir con baja velocidad para poder evitar los baches-cráteres. Esperemos que con la promoción que está haciendo el gobierno mejoren el acceso

Increíble lugar en medio de la selva; no se pierdan el recorrido, y por favor cuidemos nuestro patrimonio cultural; es una experiencia única ya que aún se puede subir a través de ellas.El señor que se encuentra cuidando el lugar nos ayudó con el sentido de la ubicación, es una persona muy amable, le dimos un agradecimiento por su apoyo.

The ruins of Dzibanche are pretty nice, but getting there is a bit challenging. First you will be stopped by a local militia once you get on the access road to the ruins. They will ask you for a 'contribution' to their farming commune. It costs 170 pesos for them to allow you through, they even gave me a receipt. than there is the road. Narrow and strewn with potholes, not paved in many places and has rocks sticking out every so often. It will take you a half hour to negotiate the 2 miles from the militia checkpoint to the actual ruins. The ruins are a bit like Becan, but not quite as restored, but there are three major pyramids, one with a royal tomb and two which you can climb. When we were there we had the place to ourselves.

Liked walking the ruins and seeing the small museum.

Few tourists which is always a big plus. Small-medium size so you can get through it without falling exhausted. You can climb up two of the temples, however the last set of stairs on one is rather steep so beware.Keep a look out for the spider monkeys above on the right hand side. Some howler monkeys over there too further into the brush to listen to. A couple of stray dogs I’m bad shape at the main ticket stand so if you’re “that type”, you may want to bring them some grub as they’re in bad shape:(Apparently some 100 buildings in the area with only about a dozen rehabilitated back in the 1990s and no work actually underway.Of note, the community of Morocoy charges an access fee several kilometres before the ruins so don’t be surprised. They’ll give you a receipt and at the ruins the INAH signs make note of the fee they are collecting.The smaller area of Kinichná is included in the entrance fee and is a short drive away. One large temple there with tall steps. Exposed/dug out only on one side so gives you an idea of how nature “rehabilitates” over time.

Mixed feelings. We had to pay some local residents (an older woman, a middle-aged woman, and her younger son, non-threatening) to pass onto the last road (170 pesos). This road is nearly only potholes for 10 min straight so be prepared. When we received the tickets (only after insisting that we receive some sort of paper/receipt for the transaction, as it was not offered) we found out we were overcharged. The tickets state 70 pesos, we were charged 75. Only 10 extra, but still. It seems that the ticket lady tried to pocket what we paid, as she only gave us the tickets after we insisted (as well as a list to sign that tracks the amount of tickets sold). The tickets were valid Jan.-Dec. 2022…we visited Mar. 2023…That being said, we had the ENTIRE site to ourselves (outside of one security man) and that was quite pleasant.

El lugar está increíble, si buscas una zona arqueológica donde puedas estar e interactúar y moverte libremente. Este lugar está increíble, abre todos los días, el horario es de 9am a 4:30pm, los guías y guardianes son muy hospitalarios y te cuentan la historia del lugar. Rodeado de plantas endémicas de la zona y una fauna muy variada, desde Monos, cormoranes, zorros salvajes. El lugar es grande y puedes acceder a algunas pirámides...Es un lugar muy bien conservado, se recomienda ir en tranquilidad y no perturbar la naturaleza...

Éste sitio arqueológico maya ofrece reinas preciosas y espacios increíbles, hay restos de mascarones pirámides increíbles que rompen el dos el de la selva y además se disfruta una buena tarde. Está cerca a otros sitios arqueológicos por lo tanto ofrece una experiencia completa
